We are immensely proud to announce that Magali Bourgeois, Diaverum chiropodist-podiatrist, has been honoured at the 2025 Diaverum Awards ceremony in Malmö with the prestigious True Care Award. This distinction recognises her outstanding career, her exemplary dedication to patients, and marks France’s long-awaited return to the spotlight, finally bringing home a trophy we have been hoping for over many years.

A chiropodist-podiatrist since 1999, Magali is also a patient with end-stage renal insufficiency and is currently awaiting her fifth kidney transplant. Three times a week, she undergoes her dialysis sessions in a Diaverum centre while continuing her professional activity.
From this dual experience — both as a caregiver and as a patient — Magali draws remarkable strength and inspiration.
With the support of the Diaverum Provence team, she designed and developed an innovative system of podiatry consultations delivered directly during dialysis sessions, optimising care time and helping prevent serious complications, especially diabetic foot lesions.
This project was brought to life and elevated thanks to the combined involvement of Dr Stroumza, Medical Director France, and Yohan El-Haik, Regional Manager Diaverum Provence. Both supported Magali throughout the entire process, from structuring the initiative to presenting it on an international stage, in the hope of securing this highly coveted award.
The prize was received in Malmö by Arij El Karmouni, Communication Specialist France, on behalf of Magali and the entire Diaverum France team.
We also extend our congratulations to the winners in the other international categories:
-
Zhanuzak Yesselbayev, Kazakhstan
-
Gabriel Alpalhão, Portugal
-
‘Healthy Kidneys’ Initiative, Poland
-
Blackout Response, Iberia (Portugal & Spain)

Congratulations as well to the finalists of the “Inspiration” category — a team of Diaverum caregivers who enthusiastically took part in the Algernon race, a flagship event promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities. Their project, selected among four finalists and incredibly close to winning, missed the top spot by a hair!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Laure Lacognata, Philippe Baldomar, Marion Bonventre, Julie Moussi, Frédérique Roux, and the entire Diaverum Provence team for their commitment, energy, and wonderful team spirit. A truly inspiring example of solidarity and sharing, perfectly aligned with our values.
Thank you all for continuing to embody our mission and values every day in service of our patients.
